One in 14 UK adults (7%) feel stressed every single day and we all experience stress, in a variety of ways & levels.

Stress can come from Work, Family, Relationships, or just from being that rubbish thing called being a grown up!

These are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to causes of stress…& unfortunately there is no avoiding it….BUT!

There are a range of techniques & practices to reduce stress in your life.

Here’s how to tackle stress like a boss and feel more in control

▪️Empty your head!

All that chatter & noise that goes on in your brain, get it down on paper!

Write down your feelings & emotions.

It’s pretty liberating & when you see your feeling written down, it allows you to process them, address them if needed & create a plan of action!

▪️It’s ok to say “No”

If you’re a “yes” person, inadvertently loading your task plate with more jobs than you can handle, you can say NO. And that’s ok!

Time for yourself is essential and if you are overloading yourself with other peoples needs then you are essentially adding to your own stress levels

It’s not selfish & it’s ok, those that love & care about you will understand!

▪️Plan, Organise, Diarise

Are you a planner or a fly by the seat of your pants kinda person?

If you find yourself jumping from job to job, task to task, then start planing.

Allow yourself a small window every week to plan your coming 7 days. From family chores and activities to work meetings & shopping trips, plan your week with as much precision and detail as you feel is needed to allow you to feel more in control!

AND, it will allow you some more down time too!

▪️Meditate and breath. By quietening your mind and slowing and focusing on your breathing, you increase your self-awareness. This quiet time also allows your to focus on the present, reducing negative emotions and increases a sense of well-being.

▪️Get Active. When you pump, jump, leap, lunge, squat, sweat.....or dance around in your disco pants, you release a beautiful cocktail of hormones and endorphins, all designed to have you feeling fabulous, full of life and less stressed

▪️Sleep well. Sleep is a powerful stress reduction tool and with regular sleep, we feel calmer and restores our body, improving concentration, regulating our moods and improving our decision-making abilities. You are a better problem solver and are better able to cope with stress when you're well-rested and awake fresh.

These are just a few of the suggestions to reducing stress in your life, but with these simple steps, you can feel less stressed and more focused and relaxed
